Thread and Compass

The name Thread and Compass reflects two essential forces in meaningful change: connection and direction. Together, they represent the process of finding coherence in complexity and designing a life that reflects who you truly are—especially for those whose minds don’t follow conventional paths.

The thread symbolizes the through line—the internal signal that weaves together our experiences, insights, and longings. For those with ADHD or sensitive, creative nervous systems, life can often feel fragmented or nonlinear. The thread is the part of us that quietly responds to what matters—a flicker of curiosity, a sense of aliveness, a moment of resonance that marks the threshold of possibility. It's what pulls us toward meaningful questions, recurring themes, or ideas we can't quite let go of. In coaching, learning to notice and follow that thread helps clients discover personal patterns, identify what nourishes them, and move toward change that feels organic and aligned—not forced.

The compass represents our ability to re-orient—to pause, shift perspective, and choose direction. In Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and the DNA-V model, this is grounded in values: the inner coordinates that help us decide what matters most. But the compass also speaks to state awareness—the ability to recognize when we're dysregulated, distracted, or stuck, and to shift not just our goals, but the internal conditions from which we're acting. For individuals navigating overwhelm, emotional intensity, or attentional drift, the compass offers a gentle recalibration—not a rigid destination, but a meaningful direction to move toward.

Together, Thread and Compass Coaching is about helping clients reconnect with their own internal navigation system—to follow what feels alive, to build systems that reflect their rhythms, and to live with clarity, intention, and creative agency.
